Are Some Molds More Hazardous Than Others?

If you discover you have a mold problem in your home, do you do not need to find out what type of mold you may have?  Not necessarily as all molds should be treated the same when it comes to health risks and removal.

We have all heard of toxic mold like black mold for example.  The term “toxic mold” may not be entirely accurate.  The mold produces “mycotoxins” which are toxic chemicals that are present on spores and small fragments of mold and fungus that are released into the air.  It has been reported that mycotoxins found inside residential living spaces have been reported to contribute to poor air quality conditions.

All indoor mold growth should be removed promptly, no matter what type(s) of mold is present, or whether or not it can produce mycotoxins.
